Rawn Shah is an expert in collaboration and social computing methodologies within organizations and on the Web. He is a Social Business Strategist in IBM Collaboration Solutions where his primary responsibilities involve devising the strategy for social selling, social business processes, and determining business value, governance and ethics in social business. He often writes on these subjects on his Connected Business blog in the leadership section on Forbes.com. He is the author of seven books, his latest being « Social Networking for Business  » (Wharton School Publishing/Pearson, 2010).  He was Community Program Manager for IBM developerWorks 7M member community, and formerly a freelance columnist and editor for technical journals such as JavaWorld, LinuxWorld, Windows NT World Japan, IBM developerWorks Web Services zone.

Creating Value through Social Business Maturity & Excellence

Social business opens the doors to creating new business value by capturing unstructured information, accelerating collaboration, providing analytical insight, or discovering new ways to transform business operations and processes. To achieve such value we have to understand how such value creation applies to and is relevant to different lines of business within the organization. The same idea in principle can be very different in execution.
